Architecture

Karloca is a hotel designed as a conference and wellness centre for business travellers and families. The building has seven levels and a net area of 15,000 square metres, containing a lobby, a bar, a wellness area, a sauna area and guest rooms. Community functions share one large open space, where subtle changes of material mark the boundary of each area. A sculptural mass in the lobby serves as a Turkish cafe and recalls the local history. Raw native materials form the external cladding, and large glass surfaces keep the interiors bright.
